Aurora Zen husky Tour
To see the Northern Lights whilst on a Sled Dog Tour in Lapland is nothing short of a remarkable and unforgettable experience. Whilst we cannot guarantee them, suffice to say we often see them, so you have a good chance. Sled Dog Tours in the evening are an exceptional experience, trusting in your powerful husky companions to pull you through the snow-shrouded dark forests.
Our Sled Dog Kennel is approx 17km outside the main tourist centre of Kiruna. We will collect you free of charge and bring you to get changed into our warm clothes before taking you into the very dark Poikkijärvi Woods, only a few kilometres away from the Torn River, where the world-famous Ice Hotel resides. Our guides will show you around the kennels and explain a little about the huskies we have here. We like to let everyone get involved if they want, and that helps you get to know your super friendly Husky team before we head out into the Lapland darkness in search of Aurora Borealis.
Your guide will drive you on a big sled pulled by 12-14 mighty Alaskan & Siberian Huskies. You will sit back and enjoy the thrilling ride as we glide into the sparkling snow under the Arctic Moon.
On this remarkable Sled Dog Tour with us, you will travel through the glistening snow-covered forests, across lakes and swamps which are frozen solid and enjoy a taste of the winter solitude in the darkness and still of the Arctic night. We will briefly stop to allow you to take in the dark Arctic solitude and, if you are lucky, watch some Northern Lights if they appear. We will take some pictures of you on the dog sled to have memories of your unique experience you can view later.
Once we arrive back at our camp, we will give our furry friends a little treat of their favourite RAW meat, and our guides will take them back to their warm dog houses. Then we will take you to our Firehut and traditional Igloo if we have had enough snow to build it and have some warm drinks and cake over the cosy, open fire. Hopefully, our Lapland Northern Lights will come out to play, and you will have a little time left to snap some beautiful pictures of the Aurora.
