Husky Blast Tour
Come and feel the exhilaration, pleasure and adrenalin with our approx 6km Husky Blast Tour. It’s fun, it’s fantastic and you’re sure to have an amazing time in our Arctic wonderland with our world-class, beautiful huskies. You’ll have trouble getting the smile off your face for weeks…
We collect you free of charge, give you professional, warm, Arctic clothes and take you to our secluded base camp in the Poikkijärvi woods, far away from the busy tourist areas. We will dress you and let you meet our 60+ gorgeous Siberian and Alaskan Huskies and the puppies of course (big puppies!). You are sure to fall in love with many if not ALL of them like we did :)
On this trip, 2 people will share a sledge and both will drive the sled changing at the 3km point, we will travel through lush snow-covered crystal forests before heading into the ice and snow covered open swamp, meandering through the forest. On the return, you will be able to take photos of the dogs and feed them a lovely block of food as a thank you for their gallant effort of strength and resilience. Driving on the sled can be anywhere between 25-35 minutes depending on various factors from weight, snow conditions and how the dogs feel that day. Regardless every minute you spend with us will be an experience you are guaranteed not to forget.
We also try to take professional quality photographs for you, however, please note that circumstances outwith our control sometimes prevent this from being possible. We always try our best, check us out on Trip Advisor, Google, Instagram, Youtube and Facebook.
Please note that there is no food or drinks with this tour.
We look forward to seeing you soon and thank you for booking with Snowdog. The No.1 Supplier of quality dog tours in Lapland.
Preparing you and the Sled Dogs
After a short important training session by our expert guides we will begin to prepare your dog teams for the trip. This is high octane, very noisy and very exciting for everyone, including most of all the Sled Dogs! You will be helping to prepare your team and get ready for a thrilling journey with the huskies. During the trip, you are fully responsible for looking after your new husky friends and in return they will give you an amazing experience and display of raw k9 husky power! We will be on hand to help if you get into a tricky situation, so don't worry about a thing, just enjoy.
Your Lapland Dog Sledding Adventure
During your Dog Sledding tour we will take you through shiny silken snowfields, across expansive outstretched frozen swamps, rivers, lakes and into ethereal snow covered forests. We will stop on few occasions in order to let you change drivers and take some photographs. All of our guides are also excellent photographers and they will wherever possible take a few excellent pictures, which you can have free of charge to remember your dog sledding adventure in Lapland. Sometimes we will make short video clips and upload them when we have time. Either way, you will receive some memorable snaps of your time with the husky sled dogs.
